The Wall That Refuses to Be Straight
A curved stone retaining wall argues with a glass building under midday sun.
Someone poured real care into a wall nobody photographs, so I photographed it. The curve does all the work — rough stone bending through all that green like it's in no hurry to be anywhere, while the glass building behind insists on straight lines. Midday sun usually flattens a place out, but here it dug into every stone and scattered the trees across the grass in hard little shadows. Half retaining wall, half sculpture.
